Stripper Wells of the

San Juan Basin (SJB)

There are different definitions of what constitutes a stripper well. The IRS uses a flow rate of less than 90 MCF/day. The Oil and Gas Interstate Compact Commission uses a flow rate of less than 60 MCF/day. The data for the state of New Mexico shown below is from an excel file that the New Mexico Oil Conservation Division (OCD) released in January 2021. Though the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC) does not have a download for stripper wells I was able to gleam low producing wells from the COGCC website.
