A deep dive down into the rabbit hole of information gleamed from the Colorado Oil and Gas Commission's (COGCC) and the New Mexico Oil Conservation Division's (NMOCD) wealth of data on the San Juan Basin(SJB). I update production data, and I post other things I think are interesting. Basically, I am documenting the slow demise of the once fearsome gas producing region known as the San Juan Basin!

And I fly a drone and record videos of areas I think are cool.

Basic Facts about the SJB

Active Wells: 24,656;  Gas Stripper Wells: 10,805 (< 60MCF/Day)
Natural Gas Production (2021): 779,327,612 MCF/Year (2.1% of US Production).
Oil Production (2020): 21,949 Barrels Per Day (0.2% of US Production).
2020 Natural Gas Production Decline: 8.5% from 2019.
2020 Wells Plugged and Abandoned: 77 (note: COGCC did not have data on Archuleta County, only La Plata County).
